Those nice folks at Zen have reduced my payments and trippled my connection speed. By the end of the week I should be getting 6-8Mb download (up from 2.2) and 448Kb (up from 288) upload speeds. Probably nearer the top end of that as I'm practically sitting on the telephone exchange. You may or may not notice this on the server, the download rate is unlikely to change anything, but the increased upload rate should improve things at your end.

Well my connection has been regraded. However... apparently BT does a 10 day test on new MaxDSL connections to establish the maximum possible speed and during this test the actual bandwidth revs up and down between practically nothing and about 2Mbit... meanwhile the upload rate has already gone up to 448Kbps (which is often quicker than the download rate, heh). In short, my connection is a bit unstable at the moment.
As far as the router goes... I'm continuing to spam the technical forums for a solution. Opening the correct ports would appear to be straightforward, I think the actual problem may have something to do with how I was advised to set up the router in the first place, but we'll see. If I can't get it running NWNs properly in the next couple of days I will revert back to the old modem. I was advised that the old modem would not do 8Mbit speeds, but looking at all the specs this appears to have been a bit of creative sales talk. Anyway... either way the server should be functional this Sunday and will be set to the max possible speeds for Sunday the 16th.
Sorry about the downtime last week.

Okay... the server is back to normal and my download rate is also going up now. It's hovering around 5.5Mbps.
